Lois graduated from the acclaimed acting school in Los Angeles in 1983. Her training included classical voice, acting, and modeling. She began her career with small roles in film and commercials.

Although born and raised in California, Lois' parents moved to Australia in 1984 to begin a carmel corn business. Lois won $25,000 on a television game show and moved to Australia to be with her family. There she began a lengthly career starring in television commercials in the Pacific Rim.
